Day 1–2: The Caveman🧌🇷🇴

Stop: Meziad Cave (Peștera Meziad)

First real adventure in Romania! Explored an interesting 1km cave with five levels (two open to visitors). Cave it self is endless, its about 4500 km long and one of the tallest one in Europe. 

💡 Tours every hour from 11:00, 37 lei per person. You can walk 300m for free, but it’s worth going deeper!

Day 3-4: Underground Wonders & Adrenaline Rush 🧂🧗‍♂️🚠

Highlights:

• Salina Turda – massive underground salt mine – One of the great tourist attractions that is worth to visit. In deep mine you can rent a boat, play ping pong or play golf. It’s fun its something different.
• Zipline & climbing – adrenaline fix = complete
  One of the most fun-packed days on the trip!

Day 5–6: Transalpina Dream Drive 🌄🛻

One of the highest roads in Romania! Twisting mountain roads, fog, cows, and unforgettable views.

Day 6–7: From Transalpina to Transfăgărășan 🏞️🛣️

Road trip heaven continues! Stopped by the impressive Vidraru Dam and made our way toward the famous Transfăgărășan.

Day 7–8: Moldoveanu Madness ⛰️🥾

🚨 Important: Check road conditions to Balea Lac before going!

Hiked to the highest peak in Romania – Moldoveanu Peak. “Unfortunately because of heat waves in the area hiking and other outdoor activities was highly not recommended.” … Next time ! 

🏕️ Start: Balea Lac → Cabana Podragu (call ahead to book)

🛏️ Stayed in the same spot and took a chill evening after the trek.

Day 9–10: Tourist Trap Alert 🚧🧛‍♂️

Bran Castle (aka Dracula’s Castle)

Cool-looking castle, but honestly very crowded and super touristy. Skip or keep it short.

Day 10–11: Rafting & Alien Landscapes 🌋🚣‍♀️

Drove east toward Vulcano Park.

✔️ Mud volcano hike or more like a walk ☺️ 150 meters from sleeping spot.

Day 11–12: Into the Wild – Danube Delta Edition 🐦🚤

Headed to Tulcea/Murighiol for a boat tour in the Danube Delta – peaceful, rich in wildlife, and unlike anything else in Romania.

🛏️ Recommended: This campsite — great atmosphere and organized tours.

Day 13–14: Thermal Recharge 💦🧖‍♀️

Final days = pure relaxation. Found a thermal spa and just existed. Soak, nap, repeat.

🛏️ Stayed near a Romanian thermal park — the perfect ending.
